Squarespace doesn't set a limit on how many websites you can create under one account. Each website needs its own paid plan, though.
There's no multi-site discount and no plan that covers several sites. Separate sites make sense for separate businesses, each with its own domain. A main site, a store, and a portfolio for the same business can usually live on one site instead. You can manage several sites from one login, but each keeps its own billing, domain, content, and settings.
If your sites serve the same audience, one site with more pages costs less than two sites, and keeps all your content building authority in one place.
If you already have a live Squarespace site, a new premium template usually arrives as a separate, brand new site, and you copy your content over to it. Some designers offer to add the template’s pages to your existing site instead, disabled so no one can see them while you work. Those pages take on your current site’s styles, though, so the result may stray from the template’s original look and feel.
Each August Cura Studio template is delivered as one Squarespace site. One August Cura customer chose the Chiffon template for a bakery, but running her separate salon business would mean a second site with its own plan. If you're in that exact situation, the Mantle template is worth a look for the salon side.
