Is Squarespace good for small businesses?

For many small businesses, yes, especially service providers, local shops, consultants, restaurants, creatives, and small online stores. Squarespace keeps website building, hosting, SEO tools, analytics, and selling in one place, so there's no separate hosting account or plugin updates to manage.

Which plan fits: Basic covers a simple service website and allows up to two contributors. Core adds unlimited contributors and complete customization with CSS and Javascript, and removes the Squarespace transaction fee that Basic charges on store sales. Plus and Advanced are built for businesses selling at higher volume.

What costs extra: Booking and email campaigns are separate subscriptions. Payment processing fees apply on every plan whenever you sell.

Where it falls short: Highly specialized features, like complex memberships or custom databases, may need a workaround or a third-party integration.

August Cura Studio templates are each built around one type of business, such as therapists, authors, coaches, virtual assistants, and finance professionals. Each one comes with the pages and sections that kind of business usually needs. Pages you don't need yet can be disabled and turned back on later.
